And so, as the bell went on the last day of school, we said goodbye to all our leavers –  staff, children, friends and colleagues in the way we have been doing it for the last eight years.

The leavers walked out under a canopy of rulers held by the staff and then paraded around the packed arena waving and smiling at everyone.

Then, for her very last time at this school, Mrs Robinson blew her whistle and thanked everyone at Acre Heads.

Finally she announced that she wished the fabulous Year Six children well in their journey onto pastures new at Secondary Schools and most importantly – they were now Year Sevens!
