Report by Mr Griffiths
Catherine from Historical Interpretations came in to deliver a workshop for each class in Year 1.
The children studied artefacts and had to determine what the artefact was made from and its purpose. They then sketched these items.
The children discussed how the fire started and Catherine gave us a demonstration of how the fire spread and how it was eventually put out.
They then discussed how we know about the Great Fire. We talked about Samuel Pepys. Then the children used Quill pens and inl and wrote their names and topical words in very neat handwriting onto parchment.
During the day the children also weighed out the ingredients and made currant buns using a recipe from the time.
